Civil Engineer-In-Training

Our engineers and engineers-in-training play a key role in the design of every product solution for every sale. They are experts in not only structural design and RedBuilt™ products, but in clear communication of product and installation requirements. Projects may be diverse, but the duties of an EIT are to:

  • Product design using RedBuilt™ engineering software
  • Coordinate and oversee communication between in-house design technicians and professional engineers
  • Produce and review shop drawings and designs
  • Provide technical support for our Technical Sales Representatives
  • Develop design methodologies, product testing and literature

Design Technician

Our design technicians play a key role in the design of every product solution for every sale. They are experts in not only structural design and RedBuilt™ products, but in clear communication of product and installation requirements. Projects may be diverse, but the duties of a design technician are focused on:

  • Structural analysis
  • Product design using RedBuilt™ engineering software
  • Developing layout drawings, details and material lists
  • Project management
  • Providing design assistance to design professionals, builders, and building inspectors
  • Critical communication with customers, architects, engineers, and our team of sales representatives

Drafter

Our drafters play a key role in setting up RedBuilt projects for success.  This is an entry level position that supports the technical design team.  Projects may be diverse, but the duties of a drafter are focused on:

  • Ability to accurately draft a layout plan and details for RedBuilt products
  • Develop a preliminary material list
  • Assist a design technician with specialty detailing
  • Be able to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Structural/Civil Engineering Intern

We are currently seeking a summer intern to support our engineered wood products commercial business.  The intern will work under the direction of Professional Engineers and will be primarily responsible for structural analysis and product design using proprietary engineering software, producing and reviewing shop drawings and creating material lists.  The job function also includes working directly with contractors, architects and engineers.  Cross training opportunities exist in our industrial and corporate engineering functions. The engineering intern will report to the local Design Center Leader.
